Safety Is A Dead End

Who hasn’t heard laments from older people that things were so much better in the day? Well, these aren’t just wistful memories and selective views, there’s much validity to these sentiments. Sadly, the present generation will not understand this because they don’t know what they never experienced.  Without regard to such ephemeral things as fashion and fads, the most significant difference from then to now is the amount of interference that governments have in our lives.

We’re all familiar with the social media posts concerning the freedom that people used to have in their youth to experience all kinds of things without concern for the latest government edict or pearl clutching rules enforced by an unlimited army of do-gooders.

Somewhere along the way, the hordes of bureaucratic do-gooders, the early versions of Karens, came onto the scene, making rules for virtually every aspect of our daily lives. Every one of these rules were framed with the same rationale, that it was for everyone’s safety. Thus, there were rules governing everything in our daily lives under threat of legal action for the scoffers.  So, the police and of course lawyers were employed as a vast army to make sure everyone towed the societal lines. The most sinister example of this was the recent Covid hysteria, now proven to be a colossal exaggeration if not outright hoax.

While this stifling mindset became more and more the norm, the worst was yet to come.  Society began to mandate that not just behaviors be regulated, but also increasingly, thought and speech. With alarming rapidity, the right to say or to even think certain things is verboten in the new polite society.  The rise of social media made societal pressure all the more powerful for the weak minded. The constrictions upon the behavior of ‘free’ people became more pervasive.  Humor used to be a vehicle by which a society poked fun at itself, but as we saw just recently with the Good Good golf kerfuffle, certain types of humor were just not acceptable to the guardians of decency.

To be clear, these trends are all initiated and propagated by women.  Women are obsessed with making things safe, to make things fair and to yearn for some imagined egalitarian state. While on its face, it may sound desirable, in reality, it moves society towards cowering fear of doing anything outside of the approved zeitgeist.   To make things more confusing, that zeitgeist is always changing. You don’t even know who to make fun of.

This entire desire for a ‘safe’ and stress-free society is in fact a recipe for societal decline. No society every progressed in technology and innovation without the stress of living in discomfort.

In the years 1968-1972, a famous experiment led by ethologist John B. Calhoun, entitled Universe 25, that placed mice in an enclosed habitat with unlimited food, water and safety from predators or disease.

Initially thriving, the colony’s population peaked at 2,200 mice (well below the enclosure’s 4,000 capacity) before social structures collapsed due to extreme overcrowding and lack of meaningful environmental challenges.

The mice developed a phenomenon Calhoun termed the behavioral sink, characterized by:

  • Violence and aggression: Dominant males formed gangs, while non-dominant males withdrew completely, becoming passive and self-grooming “Beautiful Ones.”
  • Reproductive collapse: Females became aggressive, abandoning or killing their young, while many mice lost the social skills necessary for mating.
  • Extinction: Births ceased entirely around day 600, and the last mouse died in 1973, leaving the utopian environment empty despite still having abundant resources.

In the real world, we can see evidence of these same results in the ‘safe’ Western societies. We see the feminization of men, the collapsing birth rates among women even to the point of killing their own young.  Even as the cloistered western societies pretend to be safe, in fact they are fostering weakness from within and are exposed to societies less encumbered by such artificial handicaps.   It is not the natural order of humans to be tethered to artificial constructs which are clearly harmful to them. Even a dog knows to run outside if the building is on fire.  But this has happened within only a couple of generations. Knowledge has been replaced by acceptable social constructs which include even the indisputable aspect of gender.  Any functional society would dismiss this nonsense for what it is, but in our modern society, few dare to call out the Emperor’s nudity.  The yearning for safety is in fact dooming society.

Legal Hazard

No doubt by now, most have heard about the drama surrounding professional golfer Scottie Scheffler this past weekend.  Even if you aren’t a golf or sports fan, the story is of enormous interest.

Due to confusion about directions given by a police officer during an accident scene near the entrance to the golf course where Scheffler was scheduled to play, a mole hill became an enormous mountain. A situation which could have been resolved with only a minimum application of common sense wound up with Scheffler being handcuffed and hauled off to prison, even having to wear prison orange. For his part, the arresting officer, rumored to be a relative of Barney Fife, was apparently injured after the assault by Scheffler, evidenced by torn trousers. As is widely known, golfers are a violent bunch when impeded from their tee times.  Thankfully, it wasn’t John Daly involved in the altercation since a background check on him would have no doubt yielded a more colorful outcome.  As it is, Daly always looks like a ready made mug shot.

For his part, Scheffler, whose worst crime in his life was probably secretly moving his ball in the rough was now facing possible federal assault charges punishable by years in prison, not just a tournament DQ. As of today, it appears as if saner people have decided to drop all charges against the golfer. Thankfully for Scheffler, there were those in authority that overrode the elevated charges brought on by the arresting officer.

But what if that were not the case? What if the case against Scheffler was allowed to proceed based solely on the testimony of the officer? What if he were forced to stay imprisoned for some duration and then got mixed in with other criminals.  What if he suffered a real shank and not the kind made on course with a golf club? What if he got a gang tattoo with his new moniker Mad Dog Scheffler?

What if during the ensuing proceedings, other aggrieved people from Scheffler’s past came forward with various accusations against him?  Perhaps a competitor revealed that he had marked a wrong score on his card and improperly won a tournament. Perhaps a woman accuses him of fondling her while signing an autograph 15 years ago.  Perhaps someone accuses him of inflating his assets while getting a mortgage. Perhaps his caddie is accused as an accomplice.

He is the number one ranked golfer in the world and it would be tactically smart for other golfers to keep him out of the field for future events. While Scotty is fighting all the new lawsuits, this potential felon would be unable to defend his titles in tournaments.  Naturally the anti-white, male privilege crowd appears, demanding justice.  The legal costs would be crippling.

But it looks like his legal predicament will all go away.  Except for the arresting officer Fife and a few legal Karens, no one thought that Scheffler’s actions merited the horrific process that he had to endure.  Every participant in the procedure played along with the nonsense that played out because of ‘the process’.  The willingness of all the people who followed ‘process’ instead of common sense is telling about the state of the legal and justice system today. It’s as if the vindictive HOA Karens have taken over.

Processes are put in place to take the decision making out of the hands of those unable to make intelligent decisions.  Thus, when something doesn’t go as planned, they blame process and no one is culpable for stupidity.  They were just doing their job, the standard retort of bureaucrats and Karens everywhere.
