I guess if you think about it, this may be the beginning of the end for segregated sports of all kinds.  For some reason, even with the advance of technology through the millennia, enabling mankind to perform all kinds of amazing human feats, people still marvel at the ability of the human body to perform at the most basic skills; running, swimming, throwing a spear etc.  In fact, every 4 years, the world spends truckloads of money in celebration of these skills by having some city host the Olympic games.  It’s as if people have the primal need to find out which humans are the most animal-like in their abilities.

Sure it’s a feather in your cap to boast that you’re the world’s fastest or strongest or most accurate spear thrower, but…so what? Ultimately the end game is to convert this ‘skill’ into some kind of financial reward and these days, those rewards can be handsome indeed.   But if there’s a quest to determine who’s the ‘best’ at a given feat, what point is there in attaching an asterisk to the accomplishment?  Why have categories for men and women?  Deny it as many progressives will, the best female athletes are the ones that most resemble males.  No one who looks like Kate Upton is going to be good in the 200 kilo deadlift.   So if that’s the case, why even have those divisions?  Why not just have the strongest/fastest/most accurate….period.

Otherwise, the accolades are just participation awards.  We may as well have contests for only red heads, or only Asians, or only people whom are left handed.  By the same token, we may as well eliminate the filters for beauty contests.  There are some homely women out there and some comely guys, (once the hair is removed from the appropriate spots).  Just hold contests for most beautiful American or Brazilian or whatever the case may be.  Pragmatically, this makes everything in life easier to administer.  Without all the different categories of people, fewer contests of any kind need to be held. We’ve already moved towards unisex washrooms, so the preliminaries are in place.  The Olympics need only last about 2 days.  In fact, the five ringed logo for the Olympic games will be replaced by something more representative of the new format;  an amoeba.
