The End Of Woke

November 17th, 2024 No comments

It’s palpable.  The significant shift in the zeitgeist.  We can see it in popular culture, we can see it among regular people, and we can even see it more in legacy media.  The peak time of woke has passed.  The election of Donald Trump in overwhelming numbers in all but the most hardcore left states is a testament to the change.  And even in those left leaning areas, the shift in voting dynamics is underway. While Trump himself did not start the change, he personified the frustration that the vast majority of the population had felt for decades. They were fed up with the suffocating edicts of the militant left that they endured; at first gradually, then in a torrent.  The vote was a massive rejection of the increasingly severe rhetoric of the left.  Even at Madison Square Gardens in New York, the very heart of left, woke culture, Trump was welcomed as a hero while attending an UFC event.  The adulation and appreciation throughout the packed crowd was electric.  Finally, a champion.

For decades, the over-riding narrative propagated by the left in all sectors of society was “tolerance” and with that, the associated notion of diversity.  Tolerance and diversity were the impenetrable armor of the left as they proceeded to widely suppress and change the mindset of Americans. But something sinister happened along the path to leftist nirvana. That was the realization that a third critical component came with these two ideals:  and that was compliance. George Orwell presciently wrote of this almost 90 years ago in his classic novel, 1984. It’s incredible just how astute an observer of human nature he was.

Who would argue against the benign aspirations of tolerance and diversity? To do so would be as if you rejected ice cream and cake.  The problem was that everything became framed by these ideals and only certain people were allowed to frame them.  Thus, any opposition was characterized as unsociable and subversive to ‘mainstream values’. The term “politically correct” came into being.  They took a page from Henry Ford’s strategy, that is: you can think any way you want, as long as it’s our way.  This was the shield by which the left was able to coerce Americans into beliefs and behaviors more and more at odds with the fundamental values of the majority of Americans….and indeed worldwide.

When the principal concerns for the left became the right to end the lives of babies, to have men participate in women’s sports, to insist that sexually confused people MUST populate positions of responsibility in society, as well as promote unqualified people into jobs based solely on arbitrary demographics, the end was near.  We saw people with clearly deficient mental abilities promoted to positions in the name of diversity.  I suppose dumb can be considered diverse.  Ironically, it is a testament to the very tolerance of mainstream society that we withstood it for as long as we did.  In other words, mental illness was force fed into a population that finally recognized it as such.

This much is evident post the Trump victory as a women’s movement is underway to shave their heads and abstain from sexual relations.  Certainly this will be more of a hardship for some than for others if you’ve seen any pictures.  They didn’t even have the presence of mind to understand that their woke beliefs meant that men would in fact replace women in all aspects of life….apparently even giving birth. We have famous celebrities leaving (or only threatening to leave) because of their irrationally held fears. The charade is exposed; these people are nuts.

Thus Donald Trump is the target of the collective moaning and wailing, but the stark reality is, we’ve likely passed the zenith of woke and hopefully can now return back to an age of reason.  A large part of the population have finally pushed back against the oppression of submission.  They are no longer interested in acquiescing to the bizarre edicts of the insane and continuing down the rabbit hole of woke.  Weird is out; we can all celebrate normal again.

Comic Finds Tribunal Unamusing

March 29th, 2010 No comments

link Comic will face tribunal today.

Had no idea this was going on until this popped up in the news links.  It looks like we’ve actually crossed the line into state sanctioned speech, not just dangerously approaching it.  So a tribunal, strangely a word combining tribal and urinal, is going to determine if what this comic did that fateful night is considered discriminatory in the provision of services based on sexual orientation and if it can be considered hate speech.   Seriously.

Apparently, Guy Earle, the erstwhile comic made some remarks to the complainants who had been loudly disrupting and heckling other comics, himself included during the evening’s performances.  I’m guessing something about the complainants demeanor screamed ” lesbian!” and Earle couldn’t help but heckle back.  Hey, what do you expect? You heckle in a comedy club, expect to get slapped back down.  Unless the heckler is known to the performer, all  they have to go on is appearances.  Word of warning to bald, fat ugly people; if you don’t want to draw attention to yourself , ixnay on the emarksray.

I have no idea whether in fact the remarks by Mr. Earle were witty or particularly funny, which to my mind is a greater crime.  As well, from the article, it doesn’t appear that the complainants were sought out specifically to be insulted, they were the ones throwing the barbs.   Consider the scenario of a couple of guys getting over refreshed at a bar and picking fights with the bar owner.  My guess is that there’s a one in three chance of the guys being called some kind of insult, homophobic or otherwise and being ejected from the bar.  Would these guys have the right to complain to a tribunal?

Comedy clubs are going to be are going to be a rare entity if all they’re allowed to perform are politically correct knock knock jokes.  Will comics of the future have to be regulated?  Will they have to take a course on proper topics of humor? Will there be a list of verboten topics that they must memorize?  What about bizarre looking people that just beg to be ridiculed? What happens to my treasured collection of lawyer jokes?  This is all going downhill in a big way.  Next up on the PC chopping block, the Mimes!
