Seems to me that 383 people from Canada are hardly enough to spread understanding about the dire effects of global warming.  Even with all of the compelling and airtight evidence showing definitively that evil man has pushed the planet to the precipice of irreversible destruction, there may be the odd skeptic about the weather.  What do these fools think; that the sun comes up by itself?

A better solution would have been to send to Paris that group of residual skeptics to observe and listen to the greenhouse gases emitted by the speeches of the climate illuminati.  While they are dining on hors d’oeuvres and merlot, they can hear first hand just how harmful their actions are.   This group would include people employed in industries that contribute to the climate devastation heaped upon the hapless public.  By their actions, these people hasten the demise of all mankind.  We can exclude people who ride bikes and unicycles because they’ve already wised up.  But what of the other naysayers?  We can think of gas station attendants, who continue to push their toxins into cars.  Let’s include car dealers, those merchants of death by virtue of selling pollutant spewing machines of death.  For the SUV dealers, they can take their spouses, because they are doubly at fault.

Everyone employed in the pipeline, transmission and petroleum refinement industries should be sent.  Include engineers and their university teachers.  How about people in the shipping business  that cause pollutants by shuttling boats back and forth across the oceans.  What about evil airline pilots, stewardesses and the enabling ticket takers? Include truck drivers, Federal express and UPS deliverymen as well as cab and bus drivers.  People who sell and service hot tubs.  Let’s not forget farmers who have stupidly abandoned horse and ploughs for evil combines and tractors.  Don’t forget their flatulent cows.

But if the political contingent brought along photographers, assistants and assorted support staff, this group of skeptics should also be allowed to bring along their entourage.  So, you’d have to double the figure. Let’s see, add 3 million, carry the 3, multiply by 2…hmm, that amounts to about 8 million people who should have gone to Paris.  Now that’s showing commitment.

The most recent iteration of the last tango in Paris has drawn the attention of critics who point out the bizarre juxtaposition of self important stooges meeting to save the planet from the weather when just a few days earlier, at the very same spot, real people were being slaughtered by real antagonists.  This is framed as an act of defiance to the terrorists and I’m sure they’re all foaming at the mouth in outrage.

The real threat to civilization is not the weather; it’s not people driving SUV’s; it’s not even guys in masks with guns.  The real and most sinister threat to society is the metastasizing cancer that is willful stupidity. Somehow or other, major policy decisions on people’s lives have been placed in the hands of a very small cabal of assorted nutters and bureaucrats who commit entire populations to nonsensical and quixotic notions.

These people are operating in a delusional reality and are allowed to engage in self indulgent fantasies of life as they perceive it should be.   The roots of this can be traced back to the modern education system and in particular, college campuses where distortions of history and idealized versions of life are propagated to naïve minds.  Most recently, college campuses have been in the news for pushing the notion of ‘safe zones’ for students, areas where the precious Faberge eggs will not be exposed to racism, sexism, discrimination, or even foul language.  Yep, good life training.  Not only that, but school curriculums revise history to conform to the weenie sensibilities of today. That in itself is fodder for another piece in the future.

The results of this misguided and theoretical education system are graduates who live in the world of make believe rather than being able to deal with the actual realities of life.  They resemble the effete dogs kept by Park Avenue residents that are coddled, fed and cared for,  but which are entirely useless for life on their own. Worse yet, some  become professors set to brainwash the next generation.  Even worse yet, some go on to political office where they can project their make-believe realities into public policy.

The most recent annual “the world is going to end unless we act” summit witnessed the current collection of these ninnies, lawyers and self anointed experts, some old and some new, gather to sip fine bordeauxs, nibble on canapes and listen to each other bloviate as if they were the chosen ones to save mankind.  Think about that.  Throughout the multi million year history of the earth and the tens of thousands of years of man’s existence, it falls upon these bureaucrats and dweebs at this time to save the planet.   It doesn’t pass the sniff test for logic much less sanity.  They should have stayed with world hunger.
