Zombie Attacks

An intriguing story appeared in the news this past week as it was revealed that Kim Jong Nam, the half brother of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un was apparently the subject of an assassination, courtesy of the brother in power. The deed was carried out in a manner reminiscent of a classic ’60’s style Bond movie.  A female agent approached the hapless brother in a public airport and smothered poison over his face and mouth with her hands.  Since it’s hard to imagine that anyone would be much interested in offing the banished brother, the finger of blame naturally pointed directly at the charismatic Jong Un.  No real mystery there.

I suspect that another assault has happened, on a much larger scale by perpetrators yet unknown, with subtler results, but no less devastating in the long term.  Some may recall years ago a device called a neutron bomb, which when detonated over a city, would leave the buildings intact but would wipe out the citizens.

Given the behavior of people these days and especially post Trump’s election, I suspect a similar device has already been detonated, but instead of a weapon of mass destruction, it was a device of mass delusion. Maybe it wasn’t administered by sudden detonation but instead over time in the  water or food supply, but the tragic effect is manifest in mass delusion rather than an immediate fiery death.  An alarmingly large swath of the west’s population seems to have been affected by the effects of this device, though it’s unclear why it only affects certain people and not others.

The pandemic-like spread of illogical and unreasonable thinking has infected every corner of western society.  For some reason, certain segments of society seem more susceptible to the effects than others.  It’s as if a selective Zombie Apocalypse were upon us.  We can find severe concentrations of the malaise among entertainers, college professors and many students; leftist politicians certainly, as well as most in media. Symptoms of the afflicted are many but include:

denial of reality; belief in fake reality; welcoming of self destructive policies; inflated self importance; illogical and flawed logic; imagined enemies; confusing the ability to speak with the ability to be coherent; and of course the inability of empathy for others whose opinions differ.

It’s a very sinister form of affliction.  With heavily infected news sources such as the Washington Post regularly confirming  the fantasy narrative, most don’t even know that they’re zombies.  Whomever is responsible for unleashing this most dastardly of weapons upon mankind is truly diabolical.  The nature of the attack is sinister and sadistic.  For it’s not the afflicted zombies that suffer, they don’t know they’re zombies; the pain is suffered by the non afflicted!  The non afflicted have to put up with the drama queen hysteria surrounding every issue, regardless of insignificance and bear with the destruction of property left behind by the ‘peaceful’ marches of the zombies.  Some must live with the destructive policies favored by the zombies if they happen to be unlucky enough to be governed by them. As they try to go about their daily affairs, the normal  have to put up with an ocean of horn rimmed glasses, facial hair, man buns and hoodies….and those are the women, protesting the outrage of de day or, ODD.

Eventually, the non afflicted tire of these poor souls and their delusional bleats and ignore them like a street panhandler.  It’s too soon to know if zombie-ism is contagious or if there’s a cure,  but there is always hope that eventually, Darwinism will cull the herd.  That process appears to be finally happening now.

Source: Tony Blair Says Britain Should Rise Up Against Brexit – NBC News

“The people voted without the knowledge of the terms of Brexit,” the former British leader told a pro-European campaign group.

Translation: the people were too dumb to vote for the outcome that we wanted.  This seems to be the sentiment very much in play in the aftermath of the U.S. elections, as the organized wailing continues like an Aretha Franklin rendition of the national anthem.

I’m unconvinced that you will find in the articles of democratic governments anywhere, such a thing as a ‘do over’ clause.  The basis of any democracy is that the masses, unwashed or not, have the opportunity to have their voices heard via an election process that occurs on a regular basis.  The simple reasoning for this accepted mechanism is so that scoundrels and incompetents can be removed from office without resorting to pitchforks and torches.

The idea that a single person or cabal of persons are better equipped to handle the direction of a nation’s affairs has been rejected with the advance of history. With the possible exception of Singapore’s Lee Kwan Yu, autocratic ruling monarchies are failures and have not been the preferred political model for successful democracies.  Of course, that doesn’t mean that groups don’t try to perpetuate themselves through other means.

The enlistment of a supportive media is the main tool used by those who would like to continue with their allotted but expired time in power. This of course is a perversion of process because an independent media is supposed to hold office holders to account, not cheerlead for them when the voters reject them.

In the first world, there are no do-overs.  There are long accepted methods of democratic political expression allowing the masses to have their say.  The malcontents just can’t accept that.
